In May 2017, I had the opportunity to serve as a retreat leader for a church I was attending. While on the retreat, during one of our breaks, I shared a meaningful conversation with our speaker, Marnie Swedberg, who is also the founder of Christian Women Speakers. After an extensive discussion, I decided to join her mailing list. On one particular day when I was feeling quite low, I received an email inviting me to listen to her broadcast. In a less than favorable mood, I hesitated, thinking I didn’t want to hear any uplifting messages as I was navigating a challenging period in my marriage.
Yet, something urged me to pay attention. As I listened, it felt as if God was speaking directly to me; they talked about how God calls us, and if you’re receptive, this is a message from Him: “It’s time.” In that moment, the Lord revealed a name that it's to be called: 4 Women In Pursuit, along with all the details needed to establish it.
So, what do you think I did? I launched it, and it has flourished over the years. Nope, Not even close. Instead, I dismissed it, as I often do when in doubt.
I created more excuses than one could ever fathom.
Even so, I kept asking God, “What is Your will for me? Why am I still here? Surely, there must be a plan for my life.” After years of uncertainty, I was committed to following through. There have been many starts and pauses due to time constraints and the need for support from others. However, until you carry out what He has instructed you to do, your quest to uncover your purpose will remain unresolved. Throughout this journey, I nearly lost hope at times.
God’s timing is impeccable. He will fulfill the work He has entrusted to you, provided that you remain obedient. This plan has resided in my heart for many years; however, there comes a moment when action must be taken without hesitation. I firmly believe that the time has arrived, the season is now, and the harvest is abundant for the calling I am meant to pursue.
After much anticipation, 4 Women In Pursuit has finally become a reality.
Initially, I faced some challenges in getting it started, as I envisioned it as an in-person community. However, I have now launched it as an online community, and we will transition to in-person gatherings when the opportunity arises.
These words has been a constant reminder “For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us]. ”
Ephesians 2:10 TPT
I genuinely believe in the scripture that states God created a purpose for me, and then fashioned me to fulfill it. Thus, 4 Women in Pursuit is finally established! I sincerely hope you appreciate what has been crafted for the community we aim to serve. Remember, regardless of your age—whether young or old—you are continually Becoming into what God has intended for you. You are never too late, never falling behind, and precisely where God wants you to be.
